About CBS Furniture
I'm Josh Good co-owner and store manager here at CBS Furniture. If you're reading this there's a good chance you know a little bit about us, but if you have a few minutes I'd love to share a bit more about our story. While we sell furniture and mattresses we view our job as so much more than that. Our commitment to you our friends and neighbors is to help you create amazing rustic inspired spaces in your home.
A little history about...
My Mother and Father along with myself founded this company back in 2004. Originally we started out as a second hand store selling everything from furniture to toasters! (If you're wondering, CBS actually stands for Community Bargain Store) We saw a gap in the market that wasn't being filled and in 2007 opened our first furniture store.
This "About Us" page is not about us. It's about you, the person looking achieve that rustic look in your home. We're all about helping meet your needs.
Meet the CBS team!
I’d like you to trust your furniture and mattress needs to CBS. However, that is an unrealistic expectation if you don’t know and trust us first. Here’s a peek at the people you’ll run into at CBS:
Frank Good, Co-owner
I'm Frank Good. As a young boy, I remember working my paper route and discovering (through trial and error), that it's better to have happy customers than unhappy customers. That philosophy was a simple but profound truth that would significantly influence my work ethic for life. In 2004, it took a step of faith for me to quit my management position working in the retail industry of 29 years. Myself, along with my wife, Suzanne and our son Josh started what is today, CBS Furniture. I learned from working in the retail industry and from my experience as a consumer, that when it comes to the customers, we serve, do whatever it takes to get the job done, and do it with excellence. That philosophy remains true today, and it is one of our core values. One of my favorite pieces that we sell is the Mansion bed. It was our very first piece of rustic furniture, and it paved the way for more to come, making CBS Furniture one of the largest all rustic furniture stores in East Texas. I enjoy building select pieces of furniture for the store, designing and resetting the store for growth, and seeing our company evolve into a place where our community is served well, customers find what they are looking for, and leave happy. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my wife and family, building, running and working out.
Suzanne Good, Co-owner
My name is Suzanne Good. In 2004 I, along with my husband Frank and our son Josh started what today, is CBS Furniture. Over the years, my role in the company has changed many times. At present, I help with merchandising and decorating the rooms inside our store. It is truly a passion. Many years ago, I set out to make my own "house" a "home" and discovered the book "The Spirit of Loveliness" by Emilie Barnes (one of my favorites). In it, she states that "a welcoming home is a place of refuge. A place where people who are worn down by the noise and turmoil and hostility of the outside world can find a safe resting place. A welcoming home is a place that you and others enjoy coming home to." It became my passion to not only make my house a home or refuge but also help others in their journey. It's what I enjoy most about working at the store being able to help put together rooms that reflect your personality and create that welcoming place of refuge for you and your family and loved ones with the individual furniture pieces and accessories we have available. One of my favorite pieces we sell in our store is the Figaro dining set. I like it because it's transitional. The set can be considered rustic and mixed with other rustic pieces, or it can be mixed with other styles such as traditional. This is the dinette we have at home, and if the walls in our home could talk, they would tell of the many fond memories we've made over the years gathered around the table. I also oversee and manage our clothing/resales store, The Spot located directly behind our furniture store. When I'm not working at the stores, I enjoy spending time with my husband and family, traveling, reading, decorating, and cooking.
Josh Good, Co-owner & Store Manager
As I said before, I'm Josh, and I co-founded this company with my parents back in 2004. I wear several hats here, but one of my primary jobs is getting the word out about CBS! I love the challenge of building and helping run this business. Being able to help people create the rustic spaces they have in mind without having to piece together things from four different stores and put up with pushy, high-pressure sales people is very fulfilling to me. My favorite group we sell is the Downtown by Flexsteel. I have it in my house, and it is amazing! Outside of work I love spending time with my two kids, date nights with my wife and I love to fish. I very much hope to meet you sometime and help you in some way with your furniture and mattress needs.
Casey Smith, Warehouse Manager
My name is Casey, and I have been with CBS Furniture since 2012. On top of managing our warehouse, I help ensure that operationally everything runs smoothly day-to-day so that your experience is top notch! I love that we're a Christian based organization and that we allow time out of the day for our staff to stop and pray before each shift. I started from an entry level position and have transitioned over to management over the past 4 1/2 years. I've enjoyed the journey and hope to continue to grow with this company. My favorite group we sell is the Dakota sectional by Franklin Furniture. I have it in my house, and it is great! Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and watching my beautiful daughter grow and learn more each and every day. She is a real blessing for my wife and I. I hope to have the opportunity to meet you sometime and help in any way to make your shopping experience with us an enjoyable one!
Brenda Mullins, Sales Manager
Hi! I am Brenda, and I started working for CBS Furniture in 2014 as a Retail Sales Associate where I enjoyed interacting with customers. It is always exciting to help people put their ideas together to create the rooms they envision. In 2016 I moved into a Sales Manager position, although I'm not on the sales floor as much as I like, I love the many new tasks I am learning. One of my favorites is our Performance Improvement training, where the sales staff and I work together to better the experience of our customers. I have an amazing sales staff who are always eager to learn something new. If you find yourself in the Cleveland area; stop by and let us introduce ourselves. We'll be happy to give you a tour of our beautiful showroom. There are so many things that we would love to show you. One of my favorites happens to be our Presley sectional by Franklin Furniture. The Presley has a power recline and massage loveseat on one end, and a power chaise on the other. I have the Presley at home; my grandkids think it's the coolest thing. When I'm not at work, you can find me hanging out with my family. I am a Mother of 3 children and a Nana of 5 precious grandkids. My husband and I enjoy traveling, hiking or just relaxing by the fire pit!
Victoria Good, Admin/Community Outreach
Hi! I'm Vicki, Josh's wife and I was born and raised right here in Cleveland, Texas. My parents own a flower nursery in town, and I grew up “working” in that business. I have a professional background in banking and customer service, but my real passion is photography, which was quite handy during the 9 years that I ran my own photography business. I met Josh in 2011 and began working for CBS Furniture, pretty much doing whatever was needed and eventually transitioning to the Office Manager/Bookkeeper. In 2015, we welcomed our first baby, Miles, so I started working part-time, mostly from home, and that has been a HUGE blessing and a perk to a family-owned business! These days, I still do the bookkeeping, which includes payroll and taxes, basically all of the fun stuff, and I also participate in community development opportunities, including being on the Greater Cleveland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as current Secretary and serving as a member of the Cleveland Unity Committee. In my downtime, I enjoy watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, playing with trucks, and being really adorable. Oh wait, that’s my toddler.
Amy Baker, Floor Manager & Buyer
My philosophy about home is this: A home is a place to dwell. A place to laugh, cry, love and to make the best memories possible. And in that, while you are living this crazy good life, you find that what makes it more enjoyable are the elements that surround your home. Furniture plays such an important role in a home because it's the cornerstone that brings us together to accomplish those collections of intangible beautiful moments of life. For me, that is true happiness. With that being said, I am Amy, and I am the Floor Manager here at CBS. Simply put, my goal is to make our showroom look and feel like a home. I want you to come to us and get the ideas and inspiration you need to help envision your space the exact way you want it. With merchandising as a strong point, I am dedicated to helping you with unique ways of displaying and finding that right style to make your house a home! I love creating something out of nothing! You'll see some fun and interesting displays all around our store. I can get creative with a pallet! I love all the furniture we have at CBS, but my absolute favorite is the Contour Rhapsody Lux mattress by Tempur-Pedic. I sleep on it every night, and I attribute my good moods in the morning to my Tempur mattress! Outside of work you'll find me in the great outdoors. Trail running and traveling clear my mind and help me think freely. Please feel free to stop by and visit our showroom. I would love to meet and talk about your style!
Ashley Wells, Sales Associate
Hey! I'm Ashley, one of the sales associates at CBS Furniture! I have been at the store since August of 2015, and I love my job! I get to meet and visit with new people every day! Anyone who knows me knows that is my favorite part of the job! I get to help customers find the perfect mattress or decorate their home with a rustic country feel. I love that I get to help people make their house a home! I love our Tempur-Pedic mattresses! I sleep on the Tempur Cloud Lux Breeze, and have never slept better! Other than work I am a very busy wife and mother and love spending time with my family. We are very active in our church, the Tarkington Band Boosters, Tarkington 4h, and the Cleveland Livestock show. But my favorite thing to do is spend time at home hanging out and reading a good book. Hope to meet you soon!
Kenny Watson, Sales Associate
Hello! My name is Kenny. I am a sales associate here at CBS. What I love most about what I do is working with people in an entirely different atmosphere from my previous career (I'm a retired police officer). I believe my favorite group that we have is the Banner set by Ashley. I like the sofa/loveseat combo over the sectional. In my downtime, I enjoy spending time with my family and spoiling my granddaughter. There is nothing better than sitting in a group with my wife and all my children and just listening to the different conversations.
Toribio Lobos, Service Technician/Delivery
Hi, I'm Tori Lobos, and I've been the official handyman here at CBS since 2011! In addition to delivery, my primary job is to take care of you if something you purchase from us breaks. I love furniture repair, mainly because it allows me to learn new things and be challenged all the time. I like the adjustable bases that we offer that have massage built in...they're great to have after a long day of work. When I'm off, I enjoy time with my family, fishing and cooking FAJITAS!!
One last thing...
If we earn your trust and you choose to do business with us (and I hope you do!) rest assured we'll work hard to ensure that you get the service that you deserve. As you go through our site you'll notice that we offer things that you don't often see at other furniture stores like "No Hassle Return Polices" and our exclusive "2 Year Dealer Warranty." These programs and others are in place to ensure your buying experience is the best it can possibly be! That's my promise to you. See you soon and....Live Rustic!
